Great mattress for longterm use, June 25, 2009

I rent a room in another city during the work week and wanted a reliable, comfortable mattress to sleep on while I am not at home. I didn’t want a sore neck or back to make me regret the mattress I chose, and this air bed hasn’t disappointed me at all. It is actually close to as comfortable as my $1200 mattress at home, the memory foam is great. I wake up well rested and am glad I don’t have to worry about how I’ll sleep.

This is a review of the Serta Elevated Memory Foam Airbed. This bed delivers! We have slept on it for 2 nights plus had guests on it for 2 nights. It has replaced our fold out queen size sleeper and is so much more comfortable. The one thing that seemed different from what as advertised was that it looks like (in the picture on the website and on the box) it has a suede top — when it fact it is vinyl. Because were worried about this feeling cold (in winter or our Minnesota spring!) or hot in the summer, we put a foam topper than we had used on our other bed on top of it (under the mattress pad). This also gave additional cushioning but that probably wasn’t necessary. The bed is very firm if you pump it up all the way — and of course, can be made less firm with less air. We’ll see if it holds up over time but so far it is easy to set up/deflate and extremetly comfortable. So far it has been worth every penny.
